Description of key information

Flash point 121°C at 1013 hPa (ISO 2719)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
121 °C

Additional information

Three reliable measured flash point studies from the same author (Haas 2015 and Haas 2009) are available for the substance from studies conducted in compliance with a known quality system (ISO 9001:2008). A flash point value of 121°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a closed-cup method in accordance with ISO 2719 Test Method. A limit flash point value of >110°C at 1013 hPa was also determined for the substance using a rapid equilibrium closed-cup method in accordance with ISO 3679 Test Method. A flash point value of 135.5°C at 1013 hPa was determined using a Pensky-Martens closed cup method.

The lowest flash point value from the non-equilibrium closed-cup method is selected as key study.

A measured flash point value of 121°C and measured boiling point value of 264.2°C indicate that the substance should not be classified for flammability in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
