Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Administrative data
Link to relevant study record(s)
Description of key information
Short-term toxicity to invertebrates: 48 hour EC50 16.5 mg/l (nominal) (OECD TG 202), in terms of the substance as tested. The observations in this study are attributed to the exposure of test organisms to the parent substance in the test system.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Fresh water invertebrates
Fresh water invertebrates
- Effect concentration:
- 16.5 mg/L
Additional information
A 48 hour EC50 value of 16.5 mg/l and EC10 value of 10.0 mg/l (nominal) have been determined for the effects of 3,3’-(1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane-1,3-diyl)bispropylamine (CAS 2469-55-8) on mobility of Daphnia magna. In view of the test media preparation method and exposure regime it is likely that the test organisms were exposed predominantly to the tested substance. The nominal test concentrations are supported by TOC analysis. Concentrations ranged between 80 and 120 % of nominal at nominal 10, 20 and 40 mg/L loadings whereas the exposure was higher than 120% of nominal at the nominal 2.5 and 5 mg/L levels which means that the actual EC50/EC10 results in the study report are representing a conservative interpretation of the test findings.
