Conclusion on classification

According to Regulation (EU) No 286/2011, the test substance was classified as "Very toxic to aquatic life" (Aquatic acute 1; H400) with an M-factor of 1 based on the lowest acute effect concentration available (EC50 > 0.10 mg/L for algae).

In addition, the substance is composed of monoalkyl esters of acrylic acid, which are covered by the harmonised entries in Annex VI to CLP regulation (entry no. 607-133-00-9). According to the Guidance on the Application of the CLP Criteria (Version 4.1, June 2015), "If a substance has a harmonised classification as provided in Annex VI to CLP, this classification must always be used by a manufacturer, importer or downstream user". As such, the substance should be classified as "Toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects" (Aquatic chronic 2; H411).
