Description of key information

Data available on the constituents are used in a weight-of-evidence approach in order to conclude that reaction mass of dicerium trisulphide and dilanthanum trisulphide does not require a classification with respect to explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

A weight of evidence approach has been used to conclude on the explosive properties of reaction mass of dicerium trisulphide and dilanthanum trisulphide. GLP-compliant studies performed according to EU Method A.14 have been done on both constituents of the reaction mass. For both of them, the results of the tests are negative. Based on these conclusions, reaction mass of dicerium trisulphide and dilanthanum trisulphide is also classified as non explosive.
