Description of key information

All data available are coming from a rea across between Bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)cyclohexane-1,2 -dicarboxylate (SOURCE) and bis(2,3-epoxypropyl) cyclohex-4-ene-1,2-dicarboxylate (TARGET) excepted the short term toxicity to fish.

Additional information

bis(2-3-epoxypropyl)cyclohex-4-ene-1-2-dicarboxylate was found to be moderately toxic to fish (fathead minnow) with a 96h LC50 of 17.0 mg/L in an OECD 203 guideline study. The 96h mortality threshold concentration was 12 mg/L and the no observed concentration (NOEC) was 7.0 mg/L. The result was confirmed in a second study performed in Carp which showed an 96h LC50 of 35 mg/L.

The substance was slightly toxic to Daphnia magna when tested according to OECD 202. The 48h LC50 value and 95% confidence interval were calculated based on nominal exposure concentrations and were determined to be 71.6 (65.8-78.8) mg/L. The NOEC was 36 mg/L.

The substance was reported to have slight toxicity to the green algae Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata, with a 72-h ErC50 value for growth rate just above 56 mg/L (TWA) in an OECD guideline study (Test No. 201).

The substance was reported to have no toxicity to microorganisms (Pseudomonas Putida), with a 18-h IC50 value for growth inhibition greater than 10000 mg/L (nominal) in an DIN 38412, part 8, study.
