- Justification:
Ethanethiol was not readily biodegradable in tests conducted in accordance with OECD guideline 301. It therefore meets the screening criteria for P/vP.
The substance has a reported log Kow of 1.5; no measured bioaccumulation data are available. On the basis of log Kow, it therefore does not meet the screening criteria for B/vB.
The lowest measured acute aquatic L(E)C50 for ethanethiol was <0.1 mg/L in a 48 hour Daphnia magna immobilisation study conducted according to OECD guideline 202; 0% immobilisation was observed at a nominal test concentration of 0.05 mg/L. The substance is not classified for CMR or Specific Target Organ Toxicity. It therefore does not meet the screening criteria for T.
