Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes, and launder thoroughly before reusing.
In case of skin contact: Wash with plenty of water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
In case of eyes contact: Rinse immediately opened eye for at least 15 minutes under running water. Consult a doctor.
In case of Ingestion: Rinse mouth with plenty of water.Seek for medical advice.
In case of Inhalation: Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: none.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: none.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Water, Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: None in particular.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases. Burning produces heavy smoke.
Advice for firefighters: Use suitable breathing apparatus.
Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.
Accidental release measures
Person-related safety precautions: Avoid formation of dust. Wear protective clothing.
Measures for environmental protection:
Do not allow to enter sewers/surface or ground water.
Inform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewer system.
Measures for cleaning/collecting:
Pick up mecanically the powder and send for recovery or disposal in suitable containers.
Do not use a dry brush as dust clouds can be created.
Don't wash the dirty area with water which could sweep along the substance and enter sewer systems or ground water.
If the substance is released as liquid form, collect with an adsorbent material an send for recovery or disposal in suitable containers.
Handling and storage
Information on safe handling:
Information about fire and explosion protection: no special measures required.
Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking. Dust can form an explosive mixture with air.
Take precautionary measures against static charges.
Handle under a basic standard of general ventilation (1 to 3 air changes per hour).
Wear chemically resistant gloves (tested to EN374).
In general the usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals
No further special precautions are necessary if used correctly.
Storage requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles.
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from foodstuffs.

Exposure controls / personal protection
No special personal protection must be adopted for normal use. Anyway, operate according good working practices.
Stability and reactivity
Stable under normal conditions.
Incompatible materials: oxidants.
Hazard decomposition products: toxic fumes of CO, CO2, NOx, SO2…may be produced when burning.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods: recover as much as possible complying with the local and national regulations currently in force
