Justification for data waiving:

Description of key information

The endpoint is waived: The substance decomposes before melting (SADT is 50 °C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Substance decomposes before the melting point is reached. Self-Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT) of the substance is 50°C (reference SADT: CLP regulations and UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, sub-sections 28.1, 28.2, 28.3 and Table 28.3.) See also ECHA guidance on the application of the CLP criteria, section 2.14.

See: 4.13 Flammability

The most reliable data is Akzo Nobel's DSC data noting 54 -54.5 oC melting point. Other literature reports the mp from 48 -58. Lower mps likely have lower purities.
