Description of key information

Algae are the most sensitive species for N-C16-18-alkyl-(evennumbered, C18 unsaturated) trimethylpropane-1,3-diamine with an 72h ErC50 and ErC10 of respectively 16.1 and 13.2 µg/L.

Additional information

For N-C16-18-alkyl-(evennumbered, C18 unsaturated) trimethylpropane-1,3-diamine acute aquatic toxicity results are available for fish (96h LC50>0.016 mg a.i./L), daphnia (21d EC50 > 0.1 mg a.i./L) and algae (72h ErC50 = 0.016 mg a.i./L). For the derivation of the PNEC of N-C16-18-alkyl-(even numbered, C18 unsaturated) trimethylpropane-1,3 -diamine for the aquatic compartment two long term key endpoints are available. The algae test gave an ErC10 of 0.0132 mg a.i./L and the long term daphnia test an EC10 for reproduction of >0.1 mg a.i./L.

For the derivation of the PNECstp of N-C16-18-alkyl-(even numbered, C18 unsaturated) trimethylpropane-1,3 -diamine the absence of inhibition in the ready biodegradability test (OECD 301D) at 2 mg/L test substance has been used. The test substance caused no inhibiting effects on activated sludge of a municipal sewage treatment plant at 2 mg/L.
