Additional information

Acute toxicity studies evaluating the toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms are available for four different trophic levels. All studies were performed according to international guidelines and GLP. Freshwater fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss) turned out to be the most sensitive species with an 96-hour LC50 of 11.5 mg/L followed by aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata; 72-hour ErC50 of 39 mg/L) based on inhibition of growth and aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna, 48-hour EC50 of 42 mg/L).

The toxicity to the microbial community was studied in a 3-hour static Limit test. The activated sludge was exposed to the test item concentration of 100 mg/L which corresponds to the highest test concentration that could be prepared due to the limited solubility of the test material in water. The 3-hour EC50 value for inhibition of respiration was determined to be >100 mg/L. No inhibition of the degradation process in sewage treatment plants is expected.
