EFFECT PARAMETERS MEASURED (with observation intervals if applicable) :

The immobilised daphnia were counted. Daphnia are considered immobilised if they perform no movements or are only able to move their antennae
when the beaker is gently agitated. Daphnia which are trapped at the surface of the test solution are also considered immobilised.

Conc. based on:
other: water-accommodated fraction (WAF)
Basis for effect:

Details on results:
None of the daphnia died or showed any signs of abnormal behaviour throughout the test.
Results with reference substance (positive control):
NOEC 24 h = 0.625 mg/L
24h EC50 = 1.7 mg/L (1.2 - 2.5 mg/L)
24h EC100 = 3 mg/L
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The EC50 was determined to be > 100 mg/L Silastol H 200 TS (WAF based on nominal concentration).
The NOEC was determined to be ≥ 100 mg/L Silastol H 200 TS (WAF based on nominal concentration).
Executive summary:

All validity criteria were met. For the estimation of the EC50 of the positive control, the fit showed sufficient statistical corre spondence of the data with the dose-response-equation. The 24h -EC50 of potassium dichromate was determined as 1.7 mg/L, lying within the demanded range of 0.6 - 1.7 mg/L. In the main study, the treatment showed no toxicity. None of the animals were immobilised in the control.

Because of the poor solubility in water, the analytical determin ation s of the test item showed weak correlation between nominal and measured concentration s. The measured DOC values in the test solution and in the control were below the limit of quantification. Therefore, the determination of the results was based on the nomin al concentrations. The result of the test can be considered valid.

None of the daphnia died or showed any signs of abnormal behaviour throughout the test.
