Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Conclusion on classification

Key parameters for classification

Degradation

Biodegradation: readily biodegradable (83% degradation after 28 d, DOC removal, EU-method C. 4-B)

Bioaccumulation

log Pow: 2.73 at pH 7.2 and 25 °C (nonionic form)

Aquatic acute toxicity

For fish: 96 h, LC50 : 0.917 mg/L (arithmetic mean measured concentration; Oncorhynchus mykiss, EPA OPP 72-1)

For aquatic invertebrates: 48 h, EC50 : 2.29 mg/L (measured arithmetic mean concentration; Daphnia magna, EPA OPP 72-2)

For algae/aquatic plant: 72 h, ErC50 : 30.62 mg/L (nominal; Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, OECD 201)

Aquatic chronic toxicity

For fish: 28 d, NOEC: 0.15 mg/L (measured concentration; (Oncorhynchus mykiss, OECD 215)

For aquatic invertebrates: 21 d, NOEC : 0.32 mg/L (nominal; Daphnia magna, OECD 211)

For algae/aquatic plant: 72 h, ErC10 (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, OECD 201): 13.37 mg/L (nominal)

Based on the data above the substance has to be classified as Aquatic Acute 1 (H400) since the acute effect concentration for freshwater fish is < 1 mg/L. For chronic toxicity, data from three different trophic levels are available. Freshwater fish turned out to be the most sensitive species with a NOEC (28 d) of 0.15 mg/L. In combination with the results from biodegradation the substance is classified as Aquatic Chronic 3 (H412) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (consolidated version) and all following amendments (ATPs).

M-Factor acute: 1
M-factor chronic: not relevant
