Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
May 18, 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: ASTM D2879 - 97 (Standard Test Method for Vapor Pressure-Temperature Relationship and Initial Decomposition Temperature of Liquids by Isoteniscope)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
Instead of the mercury manometer stipulated for pressure measurement, a digital electronic pressure gauge was used.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
isoteniscope
Key result
Temp.:
20 °C
Vapour pressure:
0.76 hPa
Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of phosphoric acid, 2-ethylhexyl ester, compd. with 2,2'-iminobis[ethanol] was determined to be 0.76 hPa at 20 °C.
Executive summary:

An experiment was performed according to ASTM D2879 - 97 (Standard Test Method for Vapor Pressure-Temperature Relationship and Initial Decomposition Temperature of Liquids by Isoteniscope) to determine the vapour pressure of phosphoric acid, 2-ethylhexyl ester, compd. with 2,2'-iminobis[ethanol]. A digital electronic pressure gauge was used for pressure measurement in place of a mercury manometer, as specified in the guideline, however, this is not believed to have affected the final result. Vapour pressure was concluded to be 0.76 hPa at 20 °C.

Description of key information

A vapour pressure of 0.76 hPa at 20 °C was determined for phosphoric acid, 2-ethylhexyl ester, compd. with 2,2'-iminobis[ethanol] following an experiment performed according to ASTM D2879 - 97 (Standard Test Method for Vapor Pressure-Temperature Relationship and Initial Decomposition Temperature of Liquids by Isoteniscope).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.76 hPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C
