Description of key information

A test on long term toxicity is not needed due to exposure considerations.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to column 2 in Annex IX of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, a long-term toxicity test with fish is not needed if the outcome of the chemical safety assessment indicates no unacceptable effects on aquatic organisms. In a first step, the PNEC for the aquatic environment is derived from tests on acute toxicity. If the risk characterisation ratios are higher than 1, the effect on aquatic organisms needs to be investigated further and the PNECaquatic should be refined based on higher tier, i.e. long term toxicity studies.
