Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
120 mg/L

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the reaction mass of phosphorothioic triamide, N-butyl- (NBPT) and phosphorothioic triamide, N-propyl- (NPPT)

to fish was examined in a GLP conform limit test, which was conducted according to guideline OECD 203. Brachydanio rerio was exposed to the substance for 96 hours in a static test systems. At test termination a LC50 >120 mg/L based on nominal test substance concentrations was determined. Based on the structural similarities between NBPT and NPPT (NPPT is one CH2 -group shorter), it is assumed that the toxicity of NPPT is in the same range or even lower due its lower Kow value compared to NBPT.
