First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

General advice : Remove from exposure, lie down. When symptoms persist or in

all cases of doubt seek medical advice.

Inhalation : Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Call a physician

immediately. Remove from exposure, lie down.

Skin contact : Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Take off

contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash

contaminated clothing before re-use.

Eye contact : Remove contact lenses. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water,

also under the eyelids. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. Consult

a physician.

Ingestion : If victim is conscious: Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water. Induce

vomiting immediately and call a physician. Never give anything by

mouth to an unconscious person.

Suitable extinguishing media : Water, Water spray, Dry chemical, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Specific hazards during fire

: Dust may form explosive mixture in air., Fire or intense heat

may cause violent rupture of packages.

: Hazardous decomposition products, Highly toxic fumes

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment

for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.,

Full protective flameproof clothing

Further information : Evacuate personnel to safe areas., Keep containers and

surroundings cool with water spray., Do not allow run-off from

fire fighting to enter drains or water courses., Fire residues

and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed

of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Personal precautions : Wear personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation. Remove all

sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions

Environmental precautions : Prevent product from entering drains.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Methods for cleaning up : Shovel into suitable container for disposal. Avoid dust formation. After cleaning,

flush away traces with water.

Other information : Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Do not use sparking tools.

Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling

: Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do

not smoke.

Advice on protection

against fire and explosion

: Avoid shock and friction. Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic

charge. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed.

Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage

areas and containers

: Store in original container. Keep away from heat. Keep away from sources of

ignition - No smoking. Keep in a cool place away from oxidizing agents. Keep in

a cool place away from reducing agents.
