Conclusion on classification

In the short-term aquatic toxicity tests conducted for 3 trophic levels (i.e. fish, invertebrates and algae), SHR 1396 did not cause acute toxic effects either at a WAF prepared at a loading rate of 60 µg/L (which is above the maximum water solubility) or at the water soluble fraction prepared at a loading rate of 100 mg/L (and thus considered the maximum solubility of the test substance in medium). As the substance is poorly soluble and no acute toxicity was recorded at levels up to the water solubility, the substance is not readily degradable and indicates a potential to bioaccumulate (logKow around 7), the substance will be classified as Chronic 4 (‘Safety net’ classification).
