Description of key information

A study was performed to assess the acute toxicity of the test material to rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). The method followed that described in the OECD TG 203, and conducted at the GLP-facility 9reliability of the study 1, according to the scoring system of Klimisch et al., 1997).
It was considered justifiable to base the results on the time-weighted mean measured concentrations of the hydrolysis product, triisopropyl silanol, to give a 'worst case' analysis of the data. The 96-Hour LC50based on the time-weighted mean measured the hydrolysis product concentrations was 4.0 mg/l with 95% confidence limits of 2.9 – 5.4 mg/l. The No Observed Effect Concentration was 2.9 mg/l.

Additional information

Only one study is available for this endpoint and this will be submitted as a key study for triisopropylsilyl acrylate. The 96-Hour LC50based on the time-weighted mean measured the hydrolysis product concentrations was 4.0 mg/l with 95% confidence limits of 2.9 – 5.4 mg/l.
