In vivo eye irritation study was performed in rabbits using test chemical 2 -Picoline (CAS no.: 109 -06 -8, E.C. no.: 203 -643 -7). Rabbits were treated with the undiluted test chemical with and without washing. Animals were further observed for clinical signs of irritation. There was slight pain upon direct contact followed by severe conjunctival and corneal injury. The test substance was severely irritating to rabbit eye. Hence, the test chemical can be considered as "Category 2" according to the CLP.
