Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Feb 2007 to June 2007
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: - Study generated according to generally valid and/or internationally accepted testing guidelines - Performed according to GLP - Test parameters based on specific testing guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: 92/69/EEC, A1 (Differential Scanning Calorimetry)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
EEC Directive 92/69, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.1 “Melting/Freezing temperature”
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
capillary method
Remarks:
DSC was also used
Melting / freezing pt.:
61.2 - 107.1 °C
Remarks on result:
other: no data was provided

Melting Point/Melting Range: Two further DSC runs were performed in the temperature range between 25°C and 170°C with a heating rate of 5°C/min to determine the melting range of FP-100. In the first main test run a first small endothermic heat effect started at 60.9°C followed by a second endothermic peak at 105.2°C. The same result was obtained during the second main test run with a first endothermic peak at 61.4°C and a second peak at 109.0°C. After the experiments the sample did not loose any weight and a colourless clear liquid remained.

Conclusions:
The aim of this study was to determine the melting and the boiling point/range of FP-100.

Melting Range: The melting range of FP-1 00 was determined to be from 61.2°C to 107.1°C which is equal to 334.4K to 380.3K.
