Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The effects of 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone were determined for fish (Danio rerio), invertebrates (Daphnia magna), algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) and activated sludge microorganisms.

The LC50 for Danio rerio was determined to be > 100 mg/L (nominal) in a 96-h static test according to OECD 203.

In an OECD 202 test, the short-term (48 h) EC50 for Daphnia magna was determined to be 180 mg/l (measured concentration).

The 3-d EC50 and NOEC for Desmodesmus subspicatus were in excess of the maximum measured concentration tested of 82.27 mg/L (100 mg/L nominal).

The 3-h EC50 value for activated sludge from a domestic waste water treatment plant according to OECD 209 was determined to 755 mg/L (nominal).

After deducting quantities that are used as intermediate according to Article 18 of REACH regulation the registration dossier requires data for a substance manufactured or imported at > 100 t/a according to Annex IX. No data are available on long-term toxicity to fish and aquatic invertebrates. But as the chemical safety assessment did not indicate the need to investigate further the effects on aquatic organisms, these endpoints are waived in accordance with REACH Annex IX, column 2.
