Additional information

Octanal showed 75% degradation after 28 days. The 10-day window criterion was also fulfilled (14% biodegradation on day 1 and 63% on day 11). Therefore the substance is considered to be readily biodegradable. This result indicates that the substance will be quickly degraded within the environment and will not be persistent.

Additionally, an inherent biodegradabilty test was conducted and octanal was 50% degraded within 2 days, with 77% degradation achieved by day 28. The substance is therefore considered to be inherently biodegradable, fulfilling specific criteria.
