Water solubility:
< 0.663 µg/L
Conc. based on:
other: Yttrium Oxide (Y2O3)
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
>= 6.9 - <= 7
Details on results:
Turbidity of the eluates was <0.2 NTU, thus no undissolved particles were detected in the eluates.
In all samples, a small Yttrium response was detected. This response was below the lowest calibration solution.
<0.522 µg/L yttrium was analysed at 12 and 24 ml/h flow rate with a pH of 6.9 and 7.0 respectively, with 0.5 µg/L being the lowest calibration solution. This is equivalent to < 0.663 µg/L yttrium oxide concentration.
The test substance signal in the samples from the blank column was below that of the lowest calibration standard.
Conclusions:
The substance is insoluble in water. In a study according to current OECD/EC/EPA test guidelines, the water solubility was determined using the column elution method resulting in a water solubility of <0.663 µg/L, expressed as Yttrium Oxide (Y2O3).

Description of key information

The substance is insoluble in water. The water solubility was determined to be < 0.663 µg/L, expressed as Yttrium Oxide (Y2O3).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.663 µg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Determined in a GLP-compliant study in accordance with OECD 105 (1995), using the column elution method. Analysis was performed on Yttrium, using ICP-MS.
