Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Dynamic viscosity is 3250 mPas at 25 °C (manufacturer's in-house method: DKTM-101).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
3 250 mPa · s (dynamic)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Key value was determined with Brookfield viscometer by using manufacturer's in-house method DKTM-101. The target substance is hydrolytically unstable (half-life <2 hours, Brekelmans 2013). As the hydrolysis is the driving force for the fate and pathways of the substance, viscosity of n-butanol released in water is used as a key value in exposure assessment when relevant. This value is (2.544 mPas @ 25 deg. C) is obtained from peer-reviewed handbook (Lide 2008).
