genetic toxicity in vivo
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
L-Cystine does not need to be classified for genetic toxicity in vitro. The read-across is justified due to the rapid conversion of L-Cysteine to L-Cystine and due to the fact that in many proteins two molecules of L-Cysteine form a disulfide bridge resulting in L-Cysteine. The mechanisms are described in detail in other sections of this CSR.
