Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No particle size distribution necessary due to different uses and manufacturing processes.

Additional information

Glycerides with a melting point above 55 °C are typically marketed as flakes, pastilles or powders. The transformation from liquid to solid is achieved by spray cooling. Therefore the particle size distribution is more a point of the spray cooling conditions and methods than a substance typical property. For standard and coarse powders the mean particle size is > 150 µm the proportion of respirable dust (particles < 10 µm) is negligible (0 – 1.1%). For fine powders the proportion of respirable dust is below 5.5% and is not considered to be significant. The explosion risk posed by glycerides is low.
