Description of key information

The evaluation of adsorption equilibrium time indicated that an adsorption period of 48-hours was sufficient to achieve adsorption equilibrium. The test item was identified as having reached desorption equilibrium rapidly in the presence of all soil types.

The range of distribution coefficients (Kd) and the organic carbon normalized adsorption coefficients (Koc) at adsorption equilibrium for five different soil types, at 20.0 ± 1.0 ºC are as follows:

Overall Kd range:       18.4 to 1.67 x 10e3 cm3/g

Overall Koc range:       2.03 x 10e3 to 6.56 x 10e3 cm3/g

log10 Koc range:       3.31 to 3.81

The range of apparent desorption coefficients (Kdes) and the organic carbon normalized apparent desorption coefficients (Kdes (oc)) at desorption equilibrium for five different soil types at 20.0 ± 1.0 ºCare as follows:

Overall Kdes range:  33.4 to 2.49 x 10e3 cm3/g

Overall Kdes (oc) range:  3.67 x 10e3 to 1.05 x 10e4 cm3/g

Overall log10 Kdes (oc) range: 3.56 to 4.02

No evaluation of the adsorption and desorption isotherms was considered feasible for the test item due to its extremely limited solubility in water.
