First-aid measures

Description of first-aid measures

General advice

Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapors/spray. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Eye contact

Immediately flush with plenty of water. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Skin contact

Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. May cause an allergic skin reaction. If skin irritation persists, call a physician. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Destroy contaminated shoes.

Ingestion

Do NOT induce vomiting. Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Inhalation

Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Protection of First-aiders

Use personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Main Symptoms

Redness. Burning. rash.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Notes to physician

May cause sensitization of susceptible persons. Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media.

Suitable Extinguishing Media

Dry chemical, CO2, sand, earth, water spray or regular foam. Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Dike fire-control water for later disposal.

Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons

Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire. Cool containers / tanks with water spray.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

The product causes irritation of eyes, skin and mucous membranes. Thermal decomposition can lead to release of irritating gases and vapors. Runoff may pollute waterways.

Advice for firefighters

As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective equipment. Ventilate the area.

Environmental precautions

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Should not be released into the environment. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Methods for Containment

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Dike to collect large liquid spills.

Methods for cleaning up

Soak up with inert absorbent material. Pick up and transfer to properly labeled containers. If liquid has been spilt in large quantities clean up promptly by scoop or vacuum. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling

Prevent splashing and leaking of product. Prevent the formation of vapors, mists and aerosols. Ensure adequate ventilation. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Avoid breathing vapors or mists. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wear personal protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Hygiene measures

Do not eat, drink or smoke during work. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, or using tobacco. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Technical measures/Storage conditions

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep in properly labeled containers. Protect from moisture.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering Measures

Apply technical measures to comply with the occupational exposure limits. Where reasonably practicable this should be achieved by the use of local exhaust ventilation and good general extraction. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Personal protective equipment

Eye Protection Tightly fitting safety goggles, If splashes are likely to occur, wear:, Face-shield.

Hand Protection

Rubber/latex/neoprene or other suitable chemical resistant gloves.

Skin and body protection

Long sleeved clothing, Impervious gloves, Chemical resistant apron, Rubber or plastic boots, Lightweight protective clothing, Apron.

Respiratory protection

When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators, When using a mask or half mask :, Respirator with a vapor filter (EN 141), Type A, (aerosol), The use of breathing apparatus must comply strictly with the manufacturer's instructions and the regulations governing their choices and uses.

Hygiene measures

Provide regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Use personal protective equipment as required. Keep working clothes separately. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.

Environmental Exposure Controls

The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
