Description of key information
Additional information
Hydrolysis:
Hydrolysis of the test item is rapidly completed and neither the determination of hydrolysis rates nor the detection of hydrolysis products was possible. No test conditions could be found enabling the performance of a hydrolysis study for the substance according to OECD TG 111 (2004) (Currenta, 2010a).
Biodegradation:
Ready biodegradability:
Within 28 days, a degradation of 0 % was determined for the substance. The substance is considered to be not readily biodegradable. (Currenta, 2009a)
Inherent biodegradability:
Within 27 days, a degradation of 11 % was determined for the substance. The substance is considered to be not inherently biodegradable. (Currenta, 2010b)
Bioaccumulation
The substance is characterised by estimated bioconcentration factors between 1.1 and 25920 covering BCF values of the parent compounds (isocyanate groups) and possible hydrolysis products (amine groups), respectively (Currenta, 2010d).
Due to the chemical nature of the parent compounds (isocyanate groups) only the corresponding amines and further transformation products, resulting from the reaction of isocyantes with amines, will be found in the aqueous phase having BCF values between 1.1 and 3.2.
Adsorption/desorption:
The calculated Koc of the constituents of the substance ranged betweed 9114 to 9303. The Koc of the reaction product is 2.8E+7. The calculated Koc of the hydrolysis products ranged betweed 120 to 6.19E+5. (Currenta, 2010c)
