In a GLP guideline study conducted according to OECD 301 B (Ready Biodegradability: CO2 evolution test) 6-methyl-2-oxoperhydropyrimidin-4-yl urea proved to be readily biodegradable but failing the 10-day window criterion. After 28 days the substance was biodegraded by 85.6% (based on ThCO2). The substance is thus expected to be readily degraded by microorganisms in aquatic and terrestrial environments. In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, column 2, 9.2.1.2. - 9.2.1.4., further simulation tests on water and sediment or soil biodegradation are therefore not necessary.
