Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Studies on the toxicity of 6-methyl-2-oxoperhydropyrimidin-4-yl urea (CAS No. 1129-42-6) to soil macroorganisms are not available. Therefore the assessment of toxicity to soil macroorganisms was based on a study conducted with a structurally similar analogue substance, for which data is available, N,N''-(isobutylidene)diurea (CAS No 6104-30-9) as part of a read across approach. This is in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5. Grouping of substance and read across approach. Further justification is given within the endpoint summary 6.1 and within the analogue justification section 13.

The available study for N,N''-(isobutylidene)diurea (CAS No 6104-30-9) tested the toxicity of the substance to earthworms following OECD guideline 207 in accordance with GLP provisions (Jatzek, 2001). The test was conducted with artificial soil that was mixed the test substance. Earthworms of the species Eisenia foetida were kept on the test substrate for 14 days. The mortality of the test animals was recorded after 7 and 14 days of exposure. A LC50 of 648 mg/kg soil was reported (NOEC: 250 mg/kg).
