Conclusion on classification

3-hydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-2-quinolyl)-1H-inden-1-one is not legally classified as dangerous for the environment and so neither included in Annex I of Directive 67/548/EEC nor in Regulation 1272/2008 (CLP). According to the information summarised in this chapter, 3-hydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-2-quinolyl)-1H-inden-1-one should not be classified for the following reasons:

- No adverse effects on acute toxicity (algae and fish) and chronic toxicity (algae and daphnia) were observed up to the water solubility limit.

- 3-hydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-2-quinolyl)-1H-inden-1-one is not readily biodegradable

- The bioaccumulation potential is assessed in a QSAR calculation. BCF value of 166.5 L/kg was caculated, indicating a low potential for bioaccumulation.

With the data listed above, 3-hydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-2-quinolyl)-1H-inden-1-one should not be classified according to DSD (Directive 67/548/EEC) and GHS (Regulation EC 1272/2008 including Commission Regulation EU-286/2011).
