Description of key information

A test was conducted on ZrCl4 which is expected to have the same behavior than HfCl4. No self-ignition temperature was observed up to the maximum test temperature of 404 °C, according to the test guideline for auto-flammability (solids - determination of relative self-ignition temperature) European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.16.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

HfCl4 and ZrCl4 are very similar substances and are expected to have the same behavior.

Self-ignition temperature test was performed on ZrCl4 by SIEMENS according to EC method A.16.
