Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data on the toxicity to the earthworm Eisenia foetida and data on the toxicity to various terrestrial plants according to OECD 208 of an analogous substance (EC 401-540-3) are available (CIBA-GEIGY 1990c and d). With a LC0 greater than 1000 mg/kg dry weight of soil, this information demonstrates that the toxicity of the analogy and the test substance, respectively, to soil macroorganisms is very low. Furthermore, the acute aquatic toxicity assessment covering all three trophic levels reveals neither a need to classify the substance as dangerous for the environment, nor is it a PBT or vPvB substance.

Additionally, as a pigment in paints and plastic products, the substance will be included into a matrix without any significant further release to the environment. Therefore, a direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. In Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 it is laid down that studies on the effects on terrestrial organisms do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely.

Based on these data and the lack of any toxic effects concerning both, aquatic and terrestrial toxicity, the risk to other terrestrial organisms is expected to be very low as well. Hence, no studies on the toxicity to soil microorganisms are provided.
