Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The LC0 and EC0 values of a GLP toxicity study on various terrestrial plants ( Lolium perenne, Brassica rapa and Vica sativa) with an analogous substance (EC 401-540-3) according to OECD 208 were found to be greater than 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight (CIBA-GEIGY 1990d).

The read-across substance (EC 401-540-3) has similar physicochemical, toxicological and ecotoxicological properties. It is also of low water solubility and degradation and hydrolysis are not likely. Due to the inert structure no break-down products will occur in the environmental compartments.

The read-across substance differs by an additional chlorine in para-position of both phenyl rings. Therefore, the molecular diameter is slightly larger and the solubility in organic solvents expected to be slightly better. The common functional group is the 2,5 -dihydro-pyrrolo(3,4 -c)pyrrole-1,4 dione core. It is the chromophore that is both poorly soluble in organic and in inorganic solvents. The additional chlorines of the read-across substance may render it slightly better soluble in organic solvents. Additionally, it can be assumed based on the additional chlorines that the water solubility is predicted to be even lower and the logPow higher.
