Description of key information

Accumulation in organisms not to be expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium nitrate is completely soluble in water and dissociates to (2- hydroxyethyl)ammonium and nitrate ions.

Since no studies on the bioaccumulation potential of (2 -hydroxyethyl)ammonium nitrate are available, the bioaccumulation has been assessed with the substance’s dissociation products.

2 -aminoethanol is not expected to accumulate in organisms based on its logPow of -1.91.

As nitrates are biodegradable and very soluble in water, they are not expected either to bioaccumulate in aquatic organisms.

Conclusively, (2 -hydroxyethyl)ammonium nitrate is not expected to bioaccumulate in aquatic organisms.
