Additional information

No skin irritation was found when given Trilon AS as an 80% aqueous paste under occlusive conditions to rabbits (BASF, 1968; modified Draize test).

Unchanged Trilon AS given unchanged into the eye of rabbits showed slight corneal opacity and severe edema after 1 hour, erythema became severe while edema began to reverse after 24 hours; slight corneal opacity persisted for 8 days while all other signs were reversible (BASF, 1968; method according to BASF-internal standards).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification for skin irritation is not warranted.

Classification proposal for eye irritation: R36; GHS: Kat. 2A.
