Description of key information

An ignition temperature of 225 degress centigrade is determined for N-(n-octyl)-2-pyrrolidinone.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
225 °C

Additional information

Two studies have been used from the migrated NONS file provided by ECHA. One gives an ignition temperature for N-(n-octyl)-2-pyrrolidinone as 227 degrees centigrade, and the other an ignition temperature of 225 degrees centigrade. Given that both studies are equally reliable, the ignition temperature declared is 225 degrees centigrade as this is the worst case scenario.
