Description of key information

No simulation tests on the biodegradation in soil is available. However, the test substance is inherently biodegradable under enhanced condition. From this result it is clear that the substance is not persistant. As the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions, exposure of soil is not to be expected, and therefore simulation tests are not considered to be necessary.

No simulation tests on the biodegradation in water and sediments are available. However, the test substance is inherently biodegradable under enhanced condition. From this result it is clear that the substance is not persistant. As the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions, exposure of water and sediment is not to be expected, and therefore simulation tests are not considered to be necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test substance is considered to be readily biodegradable. In Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, it is laid down that the study on soil simulation testing does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable.
