Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Sulfosuccinate of lanolin alcohol is a brownish waxy solid, not disposed in granular form and it has a low solubility in water.

Due to the high insolubility and the value of melting point, and the complexity of the substance, vapour pressure cannot be measured or calculated.

The partition coefficient was determined by the estimation on the base on the test item solubility in the two pure solvent and it is estimated to be < 0.15 (log Pow < -0.82) at room temperature 22°C (ca.).

Sulfosuccinate of Lanolin Alcohol was tested by OECD 109 "Density of Liquids and Solids" and EU method A.3. "Relative density" of Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008. The density was measured by a hydrostatic balance method; than specific gravity and relative density were calculated. It can be concluded that the specific gravity is 0.9037 at 20°C and the relative density is 0.9021.

This substance is considered to be a surface-active material, based on a surface tension of 38.9 mN/m (measured and calculated). It is considered stable in organic solvent and dissociation constant doesn’t need to be calculated.

The flash point doesn’t need to be conducted on solid substances because the registering substance is a waxy solid. It is not flammable, not oxidising, not explosive.
