Description of key information

Assessment of decamethylenediamine concerning skin sensitisation is not possible because the test item is a strong base and therefore no data are available for this toxicological endpoint. A data waiver is claimed. Assessment of decamethylenediamine concerning respiratory sensitisation is not possible because no data are available for this toxicological endpoint.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No data from animal studies are available for the sensitizing properties of decamethylenediamine. Based on the structure (aliphatic diamine), potential skin sensitizing effects are not suspected. Therefore, the substance is not classified according to EC Regulation 1272/2008.
