Description of key information

The melting point range is between 1050 °C and 1200 °C (OECD 102).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The value of the melting range is based on the measurements of the sample P.1034, which is taken from the plant of Holcim in Dotternhausen (Germany). The additional endothermic peaks of the SDTA signal are associated with the decomposition of portlandite/lime (between 400 °C and 500 °C) as well as decomposition of carbonates (between 700 °C and 800 °C).
