Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Vapour pressure: 58.8 hPa at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A vapour pressure value of 58.76 hPa was obtained by extrapolation of a temperature-vapour pressure correlation based on data measured in the range 313-341°C. The study was carried out according to an appropriate test protocol, although not under GLP, and is considered reliable.

The key study is supported by a very similar result of 58.5 hPa, also obtained by extrapolation of data measured at higher temperatures, and reported in the AIChE DIPPR 801 Database. Other reliable studies reported vapour pressures of 66.6 hPa at 22.7°C (Dow Corning 2002) and 75.5 hPa at 25.2°C (Wiltec 2003), which are consistent with the key study result.

The vapour pressure of the silanol hydrolysis product has been predicted to be 2.11 Pa at 20 °C, using a validated QSAR prediction method. The result is considered to be reliable.
