The boiling point of MPKO is 172°C at an atmospheric pressure of 101.7 kPa

No exothermic effect was observed up to a temperature of 400 °C.

1st experiment (-90 to 400 °C)

During cooling, no effects were observed which were due to crystallization. During heating, the signal became slightly exothermic and thereafter slightly endothermic between -75 and -25 °C. These effects were due to crystallization followed by melting. Between 150 and 200 °C, an endothermic boiling peak was observed with an extrapolated onset of 172 °C.

2nd experiment (-90 to 200 °C)

A repeated heating cycle was used in order to crystallize the test substance and to determine the extrapolated onset of the melting peak. During the second heating, two endothermic peaks were seen. The melting peak was seen between -50 and -25 °C, with and extrapolated onset of -44 °C. The boiling peak occurred between 150 and 200 °C, with extrapolated onset of 172 °C.

3rd and 4th experiments (-90 to 25 °C)

After the first heating, the temperature was kept isothermal at -50 °C in order to crystallize the test substance completely. During the second heating, a small endothermc peak followed by a larger endothermic peak were seen between -70 °C and -20 °C. The extrapolated onset temperature of the larger melting peak was determined to be -45 °C in both experiments.
