Additional information

Partitioning of substances into the different environmental compartments depends mainly on their physico-chemical properties. Since the water solubility of Disodium dihydrogen ethylenediaminetetraacetate (and other subcategory 1 members) is high and the log Pow and KOC values are low, the substance is expected to mainly distribute to the water phase. As subcategory 1 members are biodegradable under enhanced conditions, they will not be persistent in the environment. Disodium dihydrogen ethylenediaminetetraacetate (and the other subcategory 1 members) is not expected to evaporate into the atmosphere due to the low vapor pressure. If entering the atmosphere, the substance (and the other subcategory 1 members) will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes. Thus, long-range transport through the atmospheric compartment is not expected. Abiotic hydrolysis is not relevant, since the substances are biodegradable and neither strong acids nor alkalis cause any degradation. Based on the low lipophility and experimental data relevant uptake and bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is not expected.
