Due to the Koc, pentane-1,5 -diol will not adsorb to the solid soil phase (e.g. clay). Regarding the Henrys law constant it can be assumed that the substance will not evaporate into the atmosphere from the water surface. The distribution of the substance between the environmental compartments was calculated by using the Mackay LEVEL 1 v2.11 programme. The standard environmental properties used for the calculation are drawn from a publication of Mackay (2001). Due to the results of the Mackay LEVEL 1 calculation, over time pentane-1,5 -diol will preferentially distribute into the compartment water.
