Description of key information

A weight of evidence approach is applied, based on a read across to data for the analogous substances succinic acid, a further read across to results of other aquatic toxicity tests with L-aspartic acid and on QSAR estimations. The resulting LC50,96h is higher than 113 mg/L. The NOEC for fish is 100 mg/L.
A more detailed discussion of the weight of evidence approach is presented in Section 6.1 'Aquatic Toxicity'.

Additional information

The 96-hour LC50 determined was >100 mg succinic acid/L. This is transcribed to L-aspartic acid, considering the slightly different molecular weights. The NOEC for fish is 100 mg/L.

A more detailed discussion of the weight of evidence approach is presented in Section 6.1 'Aquatic Toxicity'.
