Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures
• General information: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.
• After inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of complaints.
• After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
• After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
• After swallowing: Seek immediate medical advice.
Information for doctor:
• Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
o Eyes: Dust may irritate eyes mechanically.
o Hazards and systemic effects: No specific hazards known.
o Possible routes of intake: Intake by swallowing or inhalation of dust.
o Chronic effects: No chronic effects known.
• Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Symptomatic treatment. No specific antidot.
Fire-fighting measures
• Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.
• Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In case of fire, the following can be released: Carbon monoxide (CO); Nitrogen oxides (NOx)
• Advice for firefighters
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol.
Environmental precautions: No special measures required.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Pick up mechanically. If formation of dust cannot be avoided use respiratory filter device.
Reference to other sections: No dangerous substances are released. Discharge into waste water channels and biological treatment plants only after clearence with the operating company and in accordance with local Authority approval.
Handling and storage
Handling
Precautions for safe handling: No special measures required. Any unavoidable deposit of dust must be regularly removed. Keep containers tightly sealed. Prevent formation of dust. Fill only in dedicated and assigned containers.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Storage
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store in a cool location. Store in dry location.
Corrosion of metals: No corroding action on metals (expert statement).
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Do not store together with alkalis (caustic solutions). Store away from oxidizing agents.
Further information about storage conditions: None.
Maximum storage temperature: No data available.
Recommended storage temperature: Currently no data available. It is therefore recommended not to exceed room temperature (max25 °C) during storage over a longer period of time.
Acceptable storage time: No data available.
Specific end use(s): See chapter 1 of SDS: Application of this substance/preparation.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Additional information about design of technical facilities: Take care of sufficient ventilation. Avoid formation of dust.
Control parameters
Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.
DNEL/PNEC-values: See Section 6 and 7 of IUCLID.
AEGL: Not listed.
IDLH: Not listed
ERPG: Not listed.
TEEL: Not listed.
Additional information: The lists valid during the making were used as basis.
Exposure controls:
Personal protective equipment
General protective and hygienic measures: The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.
Respiratory protection: Use respiratory protective device in case of formation of dust.
Protection of hands: Protective gloves. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation
For the permanent contact gloves made of the following materials are suitable: The following materials are known from experience to be suitable for protection against undissolved solids: rubber. Check for tightness before use. Replace damaged gloves.
Eye protection: Safety glasses
Body protection: Use dust-proof protective suit.
Protection against thermal hazards: No specific measures required.
Limitation and supervision of exposure into the environment: Avoid spillage of product into the environment. If possible use this material only in closed systems and devicesIn case of open plant systems (sampling devices, filling and discharging, cleansing works etc.) use local exhaust and collecting trays. Follow emission limit values. Measures in case of unwanted emissions should be established.
Risk management measures: General protective and hygienic measures have to be observed. Handling and use of this material/formulation only under controlled conditions in closed systems. Employees who use this material/formulation must be trained and demonstrably instructed about possible risks for man and environment. Measures for prevention of hazards in case of unwanted leakage (LOPC) shall be implemented.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity
Chemical stability
Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used according to specifications.
Sensitive to:
Temperature: Protect from heat.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Electrostatic discharge may cause dust explosions.
Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available.
Incompatible materials: Strongly oxidizing materials. Strong bases. Strong oxidizing agents.
Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Nitrogen oxides. Carbon monoxide.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
Recommendation: Must be specially treated adhering to official regulations.
