Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The concentration of 4,4'-sulfonyldiphenol remained unchanged over the test period of 60 days in the sea die-away simulation test samples.
- Executive summary:
In this study, the biodegradation behaviors of three bisphenolss, namely BPA (4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol),
BPF (4,4'-methylenediphenol) and BPS (4,4'-sulfonyldiphenol) in seawater were investigated over a test period of 60 days using TOC Handai (TOC, potential test) and sea die-away (SDA, simulation test) methods, which are both a kind of river-die-away test.
Degradation of 4,4'-sulfonyldiphenol could not be detected in this study.
