Description of key information

In a reliable study (Klimisch 1), the 72h EC50 (growth rate) of cumyl hydroperoxide to Scenedesmus subspicatus
was 3,1mg/L. The NOEC was 1,0 mg/L for growth rate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
3.1 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
1 mg/L

Additional information

The analytically determined test item concentrationsin the test media varied from 86 to 110% of the nominal values. The Cumyl Hydroperoxide concentrations in the test media were sufficiently constant during the test period of 72 hours. Therefore, the results are based on the nominal concentrations of the test item. The algae were in exponential growth, therefore, the EC50 and NOEC are given as growth rate inhibition.
